Guidelines

Code of Conduct

  • Be respectful and inclusive
  • No harassment or discrimination
  • Keep discussions on-topic
  • Use threads for long discussions
  • Mark solutions when helped

Asking Questions

  1. Search first - Check if your question has been asked before
  2. Be specific - Include OS, IFM version, what you've tried
  3. Provide logs - Use ifm logs --follow output
  4. One question per thread - Don't combine multiple issues

Frequently Asked Slack Questions

Q: I can't join the Slack workspace.
A: The invite link may have expired. Request a new invite via the GitHub Discussions or contact team@iftprotocol.slack.com.

Q: I'm getting too many notifications.
A: Adjust your notification preferences in Slack settings, or mute channels you don't actively participate in.

Q: Can I use Slack for formal issue tracking?
A: No - all formal issue tracking happens via GitHub Issues. Use Slack for discussion and real-time help only.

Q: Is Slack encrypted?
A: Slack provides encryption in transit and at rest. For truly sensitive discussions, use private DMs or the #ifm-security channel.
